My whole reason for doing a blog is simply to get all of this information and knowledge out of my head so it’s no longer taking up space. And who knows, I may even help some people in the process. I am bursting with so much to share that I just couldn’t stand it any longer. I’ve been studying nutrition and fitness since I was 8 years old when I got my first book pertaining to the subject. It only took a few pages and I was hooked. I realized even at a young age that what I put in my body will do something for me or to me, good or bad, and I wanted to explore that further.
It’s been a long journey of ups and downs over the years. There were times I ate nothing but fast food when I was younger and was about 20lbs overweight, and times I was too skinny and didn’t eat enough. I’ve gotten smarter about my choices as I’ve gotten older, and even decided to go vegan (something I never thought I’d say). So in my quest to feel better, have less pain and enjoy more energy and good days – I have studied many of the ‘greats’ of our time. I frequently check out websites such as ohsheglows.com, happyherbivore.com, doctoroz.com and kimberlysnyder.net to name a few. But I’ve also gotten pretty good at researching various scientific studies and health-related topics myself. And if you haven’t seen the film Forks Over Knives, go watch it, it’s very interesting.
I know how to find the true answers to the questions many of us seek, and I plan on sharing them here. What you won’t find is huge pictures of food taking up your entire screen that even your coworkers can see. And you won’t have to scroll down endlessly as your only option for seeing new content. (Don’t you just hate that?) I do have a full-time job, so no promises on posting times, but I hope to at least post a new tidbit once a week. My interest in this subject comes in waves, some days I find so much I may overwhelm you, while others may be a slow day because I’m busy at work. Either way, I hope you enjoy the leg work I’ll do to find answers to our most pressing questions. Feel free to ask any health-related questions and I’ll try to find the answers you’re looking for as soon as I can. Thanks, and enjoy!
